It has attracted generations of Australian and overseas visitors to its golden beaches , holiday attractions and laid back lifestyle . The weather is pleasant with temperates that even in winter attract southerners seeking to escape winter chills of the southern states.

The beaches are the jewel in the crown of Gold Coast tourism and Surfers lies at the very centre . With rolling swells to satisfy surfers, and safe patrolled beach conditions for bathers, Surfers Paradise is renowned as one of the worlds great beach holiday destinations . The major Gold Coast theme parks are all within easy reach and day trips to the Gold Coast hinterland always make an enjoyable break from the sun, sand and surf.

The travel drive time between the Gold Coast airport at Coolangatta and Surfers is approximately 30 minutes and it takes around 1hr 15 minutes for the drive to and from Brisbane airport.
